For music, and particularly jazz, wonks this is an incredible opportunity.
The Friends of the Cabildo and the Louisiana State Museum have been occasionally offering so-called “Hidden Treasures” events, always based around a specific theme. The events are an opportunity to go into the storage facilities of the museum with a curator and have a guided tour and discussion of some of their artifacts that aren’t usually on display. They have always been good and some are downright fascinating.
The one next week looks to be about the best one yet for music fans. Details, including dates, times, locations, cost, and highlights of some of the artifacts can be found at the Friends Of The Cabildo website.
